Tasks appear in your Calendar just like events. You can edit the title, date, time, reminder or call alert, repeat settings, location, and attachments in a task.
Tasks vs. Events
Tasks and events work slightly differently:
- Events are scheduled for a time duration.
- Tasks are set to a specific date, or a date and time, without a start–end range.
- Tasks can be organized into folders: To-do, Chores, or the default All Tasks.
- Tasks are visible to all family members who have a Nori account.
Best Uses for Tasks
Tasks work especially well for:
- Household chores, such as doing the laundry or feeding the dog.
- Daily routines for family members, such as reminding kids to brush their teeth.
- Date-specific to-dos, such as finishing a presentation on a certain day.
Add a Task
You can add a task in several ways:
- Tap the + Add button on the top of the Tasks tab.
- Tap the + button at the bottom, then select Task to quick-add.
- Use Nori AI Chat to create tasks in a conversational way. Examples:
- Say:
"Create a laundry task for myself, repeating every Tuesday. Set a reminder on the day at 10 AM, turn off Call Alert, categorize it under Chores." - Nori AI will create the task immediately. You can continue talking with AI to adjust the details, or tap the task inside the chat to edit it manually.
- You can edit the title, date and time, reminders, members, description, and location directly in AI Chat.
- You cannot add attachments through AI Chat.
- Say:
Edit a Task
Title: The task title cannot be left empty.
Members: Assign the task to one or more family members. You can also choose not to assign it to anyone.
Due Date and Time:
- You can select one day only. Tasks cannot span across multiple days.
- You can also leave the due date empty. These tasks will not appear on your Calendar.
- After selecting a date, you can set an exact time if needed.
Reminders:
Reminder options depend on whether the task has a set time.
For tasks without a time:
- Day of event (8AM, 9AM, 10AM)
- 1 day before (8PM, 9PM, 10PM)
For timed tasks:
- At time of event
- 5 minutes before
- 15 minutes before
- 30 minutes before
- 1 hour before
- 2 hours before
- 1 day before
Select None if you don't want a reminder.
You can also turn on Call Alert, which sends a virtual incoming call to devices where assigned members are logged in with their Nori accounts.
Repeat: Choose how the event repeats: Does not repeat, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly
Additional notes about repeating tasks:
- A repeating task is treated as a single task. Unlike events, you cannot update "this task only."
- Repeating tasks have no end date. Delete the task if you no longer want it to appear.
Choose the Folder:
You can categorize a task into All Tasks (default), To-Do, or Chores.
To create a new folder, Go to the Tasks tab, Tap All to open the folder filter andtap Create New: Folder names can have up to 20 characters.
Attachments: Add photos or files related to the task. Tap any attachment to preview it.
Description: Add additional notes or details.
Location: Add an address or place name.
